So, as I said, you don't need to change your payment method. Makes sense.

Re: SSN
Trev,

It also says you can give Sky £10 a month so all your payments come from one place rather than your Sky subscription then another payment to Netflix. They want to try and get you to change so you also get the Sky Box sets. They want £3 more quid from you for something (the box sets) you have no interest in. At the moment you have to pay Sky £5 to access box sets, some will think "Great, I'm saving £2 by giving Sky £10 for the ultra on demand."

Hope this makes sense.

Re: SSN
Why would you need to change payment arrangements? It clearly says you will be able to log into the Netflix app on Sky with your existing account.

Re: SSN
Why give Sky £10 when if you only pay £7.99 for netflix, just login to the app, even if you pay Netflix £9.99 why go to the hassle of changing the payment arrangements. The app will NOT be available on the Sky+ HD boxes, only Sky Q.

There's quite a lot of this sort of stuff around at the moment. It seems it's a selling point.

Thanks Buster, all understood now.

Re: SSN
The standard Sky+ box is nowhere near the Q box if you go and compare the two.

I have no idea about the Netflix thing, I know that it's available soon on Sky but I assume you'd only pay an extra tenner if you're not already a Netflix subscriber? Otherwise you can log in as normal.

Re: SSN
If anyone gets Sky Q because of Netflix, then I'd imagine they thev totally missed the point of what Sky Q really is, and does.

Re: SSN
I'm just confused as they seem to be pushing Sky Q as a new thing. I've never heard of it before, anyway.

Re: SSN
Buster

It seems that Sky Q is now (always has been?) the default box for UHD.

So, if you want UHD, fine, you get the other stuff chucked in. You can get multi-room as an extra already (?) so f you just want Netflix on your remote (as seems to be the selling point at the moment) then it's not worth it.

Is that about right?

Buster 12:54 Wed Oct 17
Re: SSN
All the stuff I mentioned, you need Sky Q for it. I think you're confusing what it actually does.

SurfaceAgentX2Zero 12:47 Wed Oct 17
Re: SSN
But my point is that all of that other stuff is already available. Why would you pay another two hundred quid for it? And their site clearly states it's ten quid a month extra. Fair play to you if you've done a deal.

Buster 12:11 Wed Oct 17
Re: SSN
UHD, multi channel recording, pause and resume in another room, more storage, the Sky Q app and a fair bit more. Yes, you have to pay for the box but I never had to pay an extra a month and I have it in three rooms.

Re: SSN
Er, thanks, so what's the benefit then?

Re: SSN
You're mistaken.

You don't have to pay £199 upgrade and an extra tenner a month.

You can get Netflix on all your devices anyway. So, if I'm not mistaken (and I might well be), you are paying all that money to get Netflix onto your Sky remote

thanks neco might look into that.

Re: SSN
It's the bollocks. UHD sport is absolutely immense.

The only people who slate it are those that can't afford it.

I think Sky Q is excellent.

Re: SSN
What does a smart TV give you over Sky Q?

SurfaceAgentX2Zero 7:38 Tue Oct 16
Re: SSN
You'd have to be some sort of idiot to upgrade to SkyQ at the advertised price wouldn't you? Or at all, perhaps, if you have a smart tv.
